Bexley notices affect roads, parking and homes

By Hiyastar local news desk

Bexley residents have new public notices to check from 3 June 2026, covering road closures in Sidcup and Bexley, a Crayford Station parking change, and four planning notices open for comment.

The notices published by the London Borough of Bexley affect Highview Road, Granville Road, Parkwood Road, Ridge Way, Alma Road, Erith High Street and Woolwich Road. Drivers, residents and nearby businesses should check dates before travel or submitting planning comments.

Roads and parking affected this month

Highview Road in Sidcup is due to close from 4 June 2026 between Lansdown Road and Granville Road while gas mains replacement work is carried out by JDT Utilities for Southern Gas Networks. Parking restrictions will also apply on both sides of Highview Road and on Granville Road from outside and opposite Gateacre Court to the Highview Road junction.

The order can run for up to 18 months, but the works are expected to take about four weeks. Signed diversion routes include Lansdown Road, St John’s Road and Granville Road, or The Drive, Rectory Lane, High Street, Hatherley Road and Granville Road. Access is expected to be maintained for residents and businesses.

The works are expected to last up to 127 days, with diversion routes via Camden Road, Parkhill Road and Hurst Road.

Crayford Station parking order starts on 8 June

The Bexley (Crayford Station) Parking Places Amendment No. 10 Order 2026 was made on 1 June and becomes operational on 8 June 2026.

It removes a 4.2-metre end section of the resident permit parking bay outside No. 64 Ridge Way, Crayford. That part of the bay, which currently operates from 9am to 11am Monday to Friday, will be replaced by a single yellow line operating during the same hours.
