Bromley Town Centre will host an open-top bus parade on Monday, May 4, to celebrate Bromley FC’s first-ever promotion to League One. The event marks a second consecutive historic milestone for the club following its entry into the English Football League in 2024.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 12:45 pm. In a departure from previous celebratory routes, the bus will travel through the non-pedestrianised section of the High Street. The procession will start at the junction where the top of Elmfield Road meets the High Street, continuing down to the intersection near Bromley South Train Station.

Traffic and parking restrictions in the town centre
Bromley Council confirmed that the High Street will close to all vehicle traffic between 11:30 am and 2 pm to ensure public safety. Access to residential streets, including Ethelbert Road, Ringer’s Road, and Ravensbourne Road, will be maintained via Elmfield Road and Kentish Way during the closure period.
Parking will be suspended along the High Street for the duration of the event. Non-residential parking bays on Ethelbert Road will also be unavailable. Residents and visitors are advised to use alternative town centre car parks, which will remain operational throughout the bank holiday.
Community impact and club milestones
Bromley FC’s rise to the third tier of English football coincides with increased community engagement initiatives. This season, the club partnered with local health services to promote NHS Health Checks for supporters aged 40 to 74, using matchdays as a platform for public health awareness.
„We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating another historic season in the centre of Bromley,” a spokesperson for Bromley FC stated. The club expressed gratitude to the local authority for facilitating the public celebration.
Bromley Council representatives highlighted the borough-wide pride resulting from the club’s success, noting that the team continues to provide significant support to the local community. Fans are encouraged to gather along the High Street route to acknowledge the squad’s achievement before they begin their inaugural League One campaign.
Media inquiries regarding the event logistics are being handled by James George at the municipal public affairs office.
