Free Great Get Together events open across Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes residents are being invited to meet neighbours, speak to council teams and get housing advice at The Great Get Together, a free community event series running across the city from Saturday 6 June to Friday 27 November.

The events are open to everyone and will take place at ten community venues, including Netherfield Meeting Place, Wolverton Bath House, Chepstow Community Centre, Conniburrow Community Centre, Rainbows Family Centre, Trinity Centre Fishermead, Saplings Family Centre, The Olney Centre and Centrecom Community Centre.

Each session is free to attend. Visitors can expect refreshments, community activities, access to council teams and partners, and a chance to ask about local services, housing issues and getting involved in neighbourhood improvements.

Ten free sessions across the city

The Great Get Together has been organised by the My Neighbourhoods Group, made up of council tenants and Milton Keynes City Council. The aim is to bring people together in different parts of the city and make it easier for residents to talk directly with the council about local priorities.

The first event is scheduled for Saturday 6 June, from 11am to 2pm, at Netherfield Meeting Place, Farmborough, Netherfield, MK6 4HS. Further events continue through the summer and autumn, ending at Centrecom Community Centre in Central Milton Keynes on Friday 27 November.

Cllr Ed Hume, Cabinet Member for Housing, joined the group during preparations for the first event. He said the programme is intended to strengthen the connection between residents and the council, giving people a chance to share views, access support and help shape their neighbourhoods.

What residents can do at each event

The events are designed for residents who want to meet people locally, ask questions about council services or find out how to take a more active role in their area.

According to the council, attendees will be able to enjoy refreshments and activities, meet neighbours, speak with council teams and partners, and get housing advice. The programme also gives residents a route to learn how they can be involved in improving their neighbourhood.

For people who do not usually attend formal council meetings, the community-centre format may make the conversation more direct: the sessions are spread across estates, towns and neighbourhoods rather than held in one central location.

Entry is free and open to everyone

No price is listed because every Great Get Together session is free to attend. The council says the events are open to everyone, with locations spread across Milton Keynes from Netherfield and Wolverton to Bletchley, Bradville, Fishermead, Olney and Central Milton Keynes.

Residents planning to attend should use the date, time and venue list above to choose the most convenient session. The published programme does not give separate booking, transport or accessibility instructions.
