Haringey pupils seek support for Egypt school trip

Haringey Learning Partnership has launched a fundraising campaign to help its Year 11 cohort take part in an overseas enrichment trip to Egypt.

The borough’s Alternative Provision hub says the journey would build on a programme designed to widen pupils’ experiences beyond the classroom. The appeal is aimed at local residents and supporters who want to help the students take part in what the school describes as a life-affirming opportunity.

Alternative provision pupils offered a wider horizon

HLP works with young people in Haringey through Alternative Provision, supporting pupils whose education may need a different setting or approach from mainstream school.

Enrichment and personal development are part of that offer. For Year 11 pupils, an overseas visit can add a memorable shared experience at the end of a key stage in their education, placing travel, culture and confidence-building alongside academic work.

The proposed destination for this year’s trip is Egypt. According to the council notice, the school hopes to venture beyond Europe after several years of successful overseas visits closer to home.

Previous trips built the case for Egypt

The Haringey Learning Partnership first turned its ambition to take students abroad into reality through fundraising in 2022.

Since then, pupils have taken part in trips to France in 2023, Spain in 2024 and Germany in 2025. The Egypt appeal is intended to continue that pattern for the current Year 11 cohort.

Those previous visits form the backdrop to the new campaign: a school community using fundraising to make overseas enrichment possible for pupils who may otherwise miss out on that kind of experience.

How local residents can help

People who want to support the campaign can donate through HLP’s JustGiving appeal.

The fundraiser is focused on helping this year’s Year 11 pupils access the trip. Haringey Council’s notice directs residents to the JustGiving page for further information and donations.
