The Tuesday event will be held at Salinae Day Centre, Middlewich, CW10 9DG. The Thursday event will take place in the Silk Room at Macclesfield Town Hall, SK10 1EA.

Cheshire East Council says more than 34,000 residents in the borough are unpaid carers, around one in every 11 people aged five and over, with local support services available for people supporting someone with long-term illness, disability, mental health needs or age-related conditions.

Advice, wellbeing and future planning support

Organised by Cheshire East Carers Hub and adult social care, the sessions are designed to connect carers with services, advice and community groups in one place.

Support available at the events will cover health and wellbeing, benefits and financial advice, dementia support, young carers services, community groups, respite activities, end-of-life planning and future planning.

The council’s source material also highlights feedback from local carers about the value of practical support and contact with others. Comments shared by carers included: “Talking to other carers made all the difference” and “Support that fits around carers’ lives matters.”

For residents who are juggling care around work, school, family life or their own health, the drop-in format means they can attend without making a formal booking. The events sit within Carers Week 2026, which runs from 8 to 14 June under the theme “Building Carer Friendly Communities.”

Who the council wants to reach

Councillor Jill Rhodes, Cheshire East Council cabinet member for adult social care, said unpaid carers support loved ones as well as the wider health and care system.

She said Carers Week is a chance for Cheshire East communities to show appreciation, raise awareness and help carers feel valued, supported and understood.

Residents who care for someone, even if they do not think of themselves as a carer, are being encouraged to attend, seek support and connect with others.

For enquiries or specific circumstances, carers can email CarersInbox@cheshireeast.gov.uk or contact Cheshire East Carers Hub at enquiries@cheshireeastcarershub.co.uk.
