The council says the aim is to involve pupils in a daily issue around school entrances, where parked cars, busy pavements and drop-off traffic can make journeys harder for children and families.

How to submit a design

Families should download the template entry form from the council’s road safety page, then create the design inside the banner shape using bright colours and a short, memorable parking message.

Completed entries can be emailed to highways.liaison@milton-keynes.gov.uk or delivered to Milton Keynes City Council’s Civic offices at Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes, MK9 3EJ.

Councillor Kerrie Bradburn, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transportation, said the competition gives children a voice on an issue that affects them every day and can help remind drivers to park safely and considerately around school gates.
