Ealing Council has introduced a new logo for the London Borough of Ealing, with residents set to see the design appear gradually across council services, communications and digital platforms.

The council said the updated logo was created by its in-house communications team, with no design cost. It will be rolled out over time to avoid unnecessary spending on signs, vehicles and equipment that do not yet need replacing.

Accessible design for borough services

The previous Ealing Council logo had been in use for decades, with only minor changes over the years. According to the council, it no longer met national accessibility standards and was designed before modern digital media became central to public communications.

The new version keeps the tree symbol linked to the borough’s historic coat of arms. It has seven components, reflecting the seven towns in the borough.

The design also uses a fingerprint-style shape, which the council says represents both the distinct towns of the borough and the individuality of the people it serves.

London Borough wording replaces Ealing

The wording on the logo has changed from “Ealing” to “London Borough of Ealing”. The council said the change is intended to reflect the whole borough, rather than one town or only the council as an organisation.

Residents may already have seen the new identity on the council website and Around Ealing channels, where it has been introduced at no extra cost.

Gradual rollout on signs and vehicles

The council said physical replacements will happen only when they are already needed. Signs, equipment markings and vehicle logos will be changed on an as-and-when basis, such as when a vehicle lease ends.

The new logo will also appear on new signs at Perceval House, where signage was already planned as part of work to open up public spaces in the building for community use.
